很多時候，我們需要向有關政府部門例如消防處、警察、醫護人員或保險公司清晰敘述事發經過。描述時，我們所使用的英語表達應該以簡單、直接及準確為最基本要求。在英國遇上緊急情況，我們可以像在香港一樣致電999，而非緊急情況則致電111。接線生 (dispatcher) 將根據求助性質轉介個案至相關政府部門或其他專業人士，包括拖車公司、保險公司等。

一般電話接線會有以下問題，大家可留意相關詞彙及用法
1) May I have your full name and current location? 我可否知道你的全名及所在位置？
o 描述準確位置可參考之前章節。
2) May I know if anyone is injured or require immediate medical attention? 請問有沒有人受傷 (injured) 及需要即時醫療援助 (require immediate medical attention)？
3) Is the driver conscious or unconscious? 請問司機是清醒 (conscious) 還時不省人事 (unconscious)？
4) Did the driver sustain severe or minor injuries? 請問司機是嚴重受傷 (sustain heavy injuries) 還是輕微受傷 (sustain minor injuries)？
o 如果無人受傷可以形容為受驚 (in shock)，或受驚但沒有受傷 (shaken but unhurt)。
o 無人死亡可以叫 “no casualties” 或 “no fatalities”。
5) Is there anyone else involved in this accident? 還有沒有其他人與這場意外有關連 (involved) ？
6) Were any pedestrians hit at the scene? 有沒有行人 (pedestrian) 受傷？
除了回答以上問題，你還需要根據你的認知簡單描述事件。但由於每種情況各異，實際將不能一概而論。以下這些例子只供參考，句子需根據實際情景互相調動或替換。
